about
I teach Web3 in Spanish because most people never get a fair chance to understand it properly.
Not because they lack intelligence — but because the best documentation, tools, and conversations still happen in English.
My name is Gilberts Ahumada. I was born and raised in Chile, and as I write this, I'm living in New York.
I've always loved creating. That instinct led me to software engineering, and eventually to founding my first startup. Building companies — much like relationships — has a way of putting your fears, limits, and blind spots right in front of you. The only real option is to look honestly and grow.
After working several years in Web2, I discovered Web3 in 2020. The mix of cryptography, distributed systems, economics, and incentives pulled me in completely — and I've been building in this space ever since.
In 2021, I joined the Chainlink Developer Experts program, where I remain active today. That experience made something clear to me: I genuinely enjoy teaching complex systems in a way that makes sense.
Fear played a big role along the way — fear of rejection, fear of being seen, fear of speaking publicly. Walking through that fear is part of the work. That's how I ended up creating a YouTube channel in Spanish, where I test new technologies, build real examples, and explain how things actually work.
Many developers in Latin America struggle to learn new technologies simply because most high-quality resources are only available in English. Translating, contextualizing, and teaching that knowledge is my way of giving back.
Outside of tech, I love traveling, discovering new cultures, and trying food wherever I go. I've been fortunate enough to visit many countries — and even had to fly back to Chile once after an accident in Thailand.
Another part of my story: I used to be obese. At one point, I weighed 150 kg (330 lbs). That experience taught me discipline, patience, and consistency — values that shape how I train, work, and build today. Movement and training are now part of my daily life.
How I teach
- First principles over hype
- Understanding before memorization
- Real code and real systems
- Discipline beats motivation
- Long-term thinking over shortcuts
This site is my home base — a place to share what I learn, build, and teach.
If you're a Spanish-speaking developer trying to truly understand Web3 — not just follow tutorials — you're in the right place.
